2020 Dimensions of Dementia Conference and Science Forum will Bring Some of the Nation’s Leading Experts to the Miami Valley

DAYTON, OH – Miami Valley residents will get an opportunity to interact with some of the nation’s top Alzheimer’s and dementia researchers and specialists at the Alzheimer’s Association, Miami Valley Chapter’s Dimensions of Dementia Conference.

The two-day event, which will be held May 13 and May 14, will consist of a Community Science Forum and an all-day Symposium. During the evening Science Forum on May 13, Dr. Rebecca M. Edelmayer, Director, Scientific Engagement for the Alzheimer’s Association, will present an update on scientific advancements in Alzheimer’s research.

With more than 17 years of experience as a practicing scientist and educator, Dr. Edelmayer leads efforts to accelerate the scientific agenda of the Alzheimer’s Association through the creation and delivery of ongoing research education. She manages initiatives uniting researchers and clinicians with leaders of industry, regulatory agencies, and the government on topics related to blood-based biomarker testing, use of digital health technologies, and biotech approaches in studying dementia.

WehryOn Thursday, May 14, attendees will get a chance to hear from experts in the field of aging and dementia care through keynote presentations and a variety of breakout sessions. This year’s featured speaker will be Dr. Susan Wehry, M.D., who will speak on “Sounds of Silence: Ending the Stigma of Alzheimer’s Disease.”

Continuing education credits are available for social workers, nurses, nursing home administrators, occupational and speech therapists. CEUs are pending for activity professionals and physical therapists.

Both events will be held at Sinclair Community College. The Science Forum begins with a Resource Fair at 4:30 p.m. Dinner and Program is at 6 p.m. Cost is $10.

$119 through May 11, 2020

$49 for students
