RetireMEDiQ’s partnership supports the local Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Cincinnati and Miami Valley Chapters.
Dayton, Ohio – September 4, 2018 – RetireMEDiQ, a local provider of retirement health insurance advice, information, and support for retirees, has committed $60,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Cincinnati and Miami Valley Chapters. The sponsorships and additional funds raised will directly support Alzheimer’s research, programs, and services.
“RetireMEDiQ is proud to support the Alzheimer’s Association. According to the 2018 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures report, Alzheimer’s is the sixth-leading cause of death in the U.S., and it is the fifth-leading cause of death for those age 65 and older. Because of these staggering statistics and our desire to make an impact, the funds we raise will directly support Alzheimer’s research, programs and services,” said Don Mackos, President RetireMEDiQ. “This disease takes a toll on many of our clients whether personally or playing the critical role as a caregiver. Supporting such an important cause naturally aligns with RetireMEDiQ’s commitment to providing the best guidance, advice, and support for our clients.”
RetireMEDiQ will join the Alzheimer’s Association® as a 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer’s® Premier Sponsor. RetireMEDiQ employees will also participate in the upcoming walk events, including the walk on September 15th at Voice of America Park in West Chester; October 6th at Fifth Third Field in Dayton; and October 6th at Sawyer Point in Cincinnati.
In the United States, more than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, and it’s the only disease among the top 10 causes that cannot be cured, prevented or even slowed. Additionally, more than 16 million family and friends provide care to people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
RetireMEDiQ encourages community members to register for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s today. Participants can join our team or register to walk as an individual at retiremediq.com/alz.
