It’s April and you might know the popular saying that goes “April Showers Bring May Flowers.’” But this month we want to grow the beauty of our Promise Garden Flowers.
As you know, each registered Walk to End Alzheimer’s participant gets a Promise Garden flower the day of the Walk to show their connection to the disease. The Promise Garden ceremony is one of the most moving parts of the Walk.
This month help us grow our Promise Garden flowers. Sign up five new team members by April 30 and your team will be recognized during the Walk. At the Dayton Walk to End Alzheimer’s, your team’s name will appear on the giant HD video board at Day Air Ballpark. At the Walks in Springfield/Urbana, Miami County, Shelby County and Darke County, teams will receive recognition on a yard sign placed at the Promise Garden tent.
Register at http://www.alz.org/walk.
Alzheimer’s disease, which is a fatal brain disease, touches 30,000 people in the Miami Valley who live with the disease. Another 90,000 family members and friends care for them. One simple act can mean so much in the fight for a cure. By inviting people to join you on your team, you are helping us to spread the word about the need in our community.
Thank you for all that you do, and if you or a loved one need Alzheimer’s information, resources or support, call our office during business hours at 937.291.3332 or call the 24/7 Helpline at 800.272.3900.
