We all like a good challenge, right?
Here’s an opportunity to channel your spirit, drive and passion into purpose.
Our Walk to End Alzheimer’s® “Challenge Week” starts Monday, Aug. 12, for the team captains and participants in the Springfield/Urbana; Miami County; Shelby County and Darke County Walks to End Alzheimer’s. Challenge Week is your chance to jumpstart your fundraising and compete to win daily prizes and a grand prize of custom t-shirts for your Walk Team. Plus, this year’s theme is “Hometown goodies,” so there will be prizes germane to each market like a gift card to Beanz Buttercream Bakery in Greenville or a gift card to Murphy’s Craftbar + Kitchen in Sidney.
There are individual challenge goals and team challenge goals. The point- everyone helps each other so your team can excel.
It’s easy. The Challenges each day are:
Aug. 12 Day 1: ENCOURAGE YOUR TEAM TO GIVE
Team Captains, encourage your members to give because the team with the most individual members who have raised $30 or more in donations by 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 12, will be entered into a prize drawing. A winning team will be picked for each Walk area.
Aug. 13 Day 2: EVERYBODY GIVE!
Every Walk participant who makes a self-donation of $20 by 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 13, will be entered to win a prize. We will select a winner in each Walk area.
Aug. 14 Day 3: ROCK A FACEBOOK FUNDRAISER!
Every registered Walk participant who has raised more than $100 through a Facebook fundraiser by 11:59 p.m. on Aug 14, will be entered into a drawing. We will select a winner from each Walk.
Aug. 15 Day 4: BECOME A GRAND TEAM
Each team who has raised more than $1,000 by 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 15, will become a grand team and will be entered into a drawing. We will select a winning team from each Walk.
Aug. 16 Day 5: HELP US BOOST TEAM MEMBERS AND DOLLARS
The team in each Walk area that recruits the most team members and raises the greatest amount of donations by 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 16, will be entered into a drawing to win customized team t-shirts, courtesy of the Alzheimer’s Association.
While we have fun, we need to remember the purpose for this effort. That is that every dollar raised for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s will go to care, support and research to help cure the disease. If you have already done some of these great things, don’t worry. We will include you in the drawing.
Each day, we will post the following day’s winners. Thank you for your efforts. Let’s challenge each other to help those who need us the most.
