Dial & Donate 2019 was a tremendous success! This year the Miami Valley Chapter increased donations 33 percent over last year’s totals and people are still donating.
The June 5 event, which was a 13-hour radio telethon in partnership with WHIO AM 1290 and News 95.7, raises money for Alzheimer’s care and support and research. From 5 a.m. to 6 p.m., our families, our supporters and our partners talked to the community about how the disease has impacted them and why they are a part of the movement to find a cure.
If you missed the live broadcast, you can see how the day progressed on our Facebook page at alzdayton. This year we covered the telethon on Facebook Live. More than 35 videos have been posted showing some of the people who were interviewed this year.
Thank you WHIO AM1290 and News 95.7 for the partnership. We want to also thank:
- Our Challenge donors, who incentivized people to give
- Our Mission influencers, who agreed to talk with their family and friends about supporting our cause and who raised money for the Alzheimer’s Association
- Our Team 30 companies who raised money in advance of the event
- A host of local businesses who donated items or food so we could create enter-to-win prize packages
More than 120 people gave. The event is an activity of The Longest Day.
You can still give. Go to WHIO.com/alzheimers and donate online. Miami Valley, thank you for being so generous.
