Of the 5.8 Million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease, two-thirds of them are women. In addition, nearly two-thirds of caregivers are women and one-third of dementia caregivers are daughters.
Women are at the epicenter of this disease. On May 8, at the New Frontiers in Research forum, hear Dr. Keith Fargo, Director of Scientific Programs & Outreach at the Alzheimer’s Association, discuss global research that is getting us closer to a treatment or cure for the disease. In addition, experience the region’s largest Alzheimer’s and Dementia Resource Fair and hear the story of one caregiver up close – The journey of Rushern L. Baker III, former County Executive of Prince George’s County, Maryland, whose wife has Early-Onset Alzheimer’s.
