Join Dorothy Lane Market as we partner with the Alzheimer’s Association Miami Valley Chapter to hold our “Cookies to END ALZ” contest.
Eligibility
All home bakers are eligible to enter the contest. Professional bakers or chefs are not eligible to enter the contest.
To register entries, email your 1) Name, 2) Daytime phone number, 3) How many cookie recipes you will enter in the contest to CookiesforALZ@gmail.com
Cookie entries accepted on Feb. 23
Entries will be accepted on Feb. 23 at Dorothy Lane Market Culinary Center, Washington Square, 6177 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, OH 45459 from 9:00 a.m. – Noon.
- 2 dozen cookies (per recipe).
- Printed cookie recipe (including complete step-by-step instructions).
- Contact information: name, town of residence, daytime telephone number and your e-mail address.
- All entries must be in disposable containers that will not be returned. There is no limit to the number of entries.
The contest is free to enter but a $10 minimum cash donation per recipe is encouraged. The Alzheimer’s donations assist in providing free education, care, and support to those affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias in the Miami Valley area. Donate here.
Finalist Selection and Notification
On February 23 at 1 p.m., all eligible entries will be judged by a panel of judges including Chef Carrie Walters of DLM Culinary Center.
The judging will be based on the following categories
Taste, Appearance, Texture, Originality
Winner Selection and Notification
The finalists must also agree to be photographed for a story if they are selected.
Prizes
The top 3 winners will have their recipes and a photograph of themselves and/or their cookies featured via social media at both Dorothy Lane Market and the Alzheimer’s Association, on or around March 1, 2019.
The Grand Prize Winner!
Wins a gift basket including a Kitchen Aid blender, two free cooking classes at Dorothy Lane Market Culinary Center (valued at over $150), and their award-winning cookie recipe will be featured in Dorothy Lane Market’s Fresh News. The 2nd and 3rd place finalists will receive gift bags filled with Dorothy Lane Market gift cards and other great items.

Additional details
The Alzheimer’s Association and Dorothy Lane Markets will appear on a Living Dayton segment on Feb. 19.
Laura’s Cookies will also donate $1 back for each Cookie to End Alz sold on Feb. 23-24 at Dorothy Lane Market Bakeries.
