Walk Committee Mission
In 2018, this group of fearless leaders will empower 845 teams to recruit more than 7,000 walkers who will, together, raise over $900,000!
Together, we will fight for those who can’t fight for themselves. Together, we can reach more people and have a greater impact. Together, we will find an end to Alzheimer’s disease. But we have to do it together, and we need you.
Join the Walk Committee in your area today by contacting Marshall Weil at mweil@alz.org, or Maire Reynolds at mareynolds@alz.org.

Meet the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Event Chairs
Dayton
Terri Bethel and Kim Peters are returning as our 2018 Event Chairs for the Dayton Walk. Terri is the Senior VP of Marketing for Wells Fargo. She walks for her mother who passed away from the disease eight years ago, and for her father who was her mother’s caregiver. Kim Peters is a CABI Stylist. She walks as a caregiver for her mother, but also for the other loved ones in her life that they have lost to the disease.
Springfield/Urbana
Annette Turner is the executive director at Oakwood Village in Springfield and the 2018 Event Chair for the Springfield/Urbana Walk. She walks in memory of her father who she lost to the disease and in honor of the caregivers and people with dementia that she serves at Oakwood Village.
Miami County
Along with being last year’s top fundraiser in Miami County, Trisha Elliot and her husband David Elliot are the 2018 Miami County Walk Event Chairs. They started walking after David’s mother passed with the disease. They wish they had known that the Alzheimer’s Association existed before that. Now that they do, they share information on the free services that we offer. While they started walking in memory of David’s mother, they now walk so that their daughter, Karlie, might live in a world where there are survivors of Alzheimer’s disease.
Shelby County
Christine Douglas is the Director of Nursing for Elmwood of New Breman, and was the 2017 team captain of the top facility fundraising team at the Shelby County Walk. This year she walks as the 2018 Event Chair in honor of the people she serves. She wants to bring awareness, and help to ultimately find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease which causes her residents to descend into a world of confusion and causes their families heartbreak.
Darke County
Debb Summers is the 2018 Darke County Walk Event Chair. She walks in memory of her grandfather who was lost to the disease. She hopes to eradicate Alzheimer’s and dementia from the world.
